? as its first exhibition touches down in Dublin Airport

If you’re passing through Dublin Airport this Christmas, you’re bound to come across the Design Island Exhibition, one of the very first events in the upcoming Irish Design 2015, a year-long programme exploring, promoting and celebrating Irish design on the island of Ireland as well as major locations abroad.

The exhibition celebrates the growing success of Irish creatives in a series of 300 photographs by award-winning Irish photographer Peter Rowen, capturing local craftsmen, makers and designers at work in their studios all over Ireland through evocative images of their trade and passion for producing.

Organised by the Design and?Crafts Council of Ireland, the exhibition spans 24 design disciplines featuring, among others, world-famous furniture designer?Joseph Walsh, architects O’Donnell + Tuomey (described by?Architecture Today as ?the godfathers of contemporary Irish architecture? and recipients of the 2015?Royal Gold Medal) and award-winning animators Brown Bag Films (of Octonauts and Doc McStuffins fame).
