Coppa

Gallery caf’s can be hit and miss but relative newcomer Coppa is getting it spot on. Restaurateurs Marc and Conor Bereen (of Coppinger Row and Damson Diner fame), event manager Hugh Scully and restaurant manager Federico Riezzo have combined?their not inconsiderable talent to create this uncluttered space. CoppaSandwichesAt Coppa, a pared back approach is evident in everything from the menu to the d?cor – the pots of herbs adorning the walls are not mere decoration as you’ll find them used liberally to add even more fresh flavour to the food. Homely and hearty sandwiches, soups, salads and frittatas have a mainly Italian influence, with other Med ingredients on offer in the form of Spanish meats and French wines. Coppa might be in its infancy but the Coppa sausage sandwich – homemade Tuscan style flat sausage in ciabatta with roasted red pepper, rocket and red onion – has already achieved cult status, as has the espresso brownie. ?CoppaCloseupBrownies

Savvy spender?A bowl of chickpea, pancetta and sage soup for €4.50 keeps you going til dinner and beyond.

Who to bring?Ideal spot for lunch with the girlfriend-about-town who likes uncluttered space.

What to drink?A Badger & Dodo espresso is your essential post-lunch pick-me-up here. But if you’re feeling naughty, have a cheeky glass from the ever-changing wine list of 3 reds, 3 whites and a Prosecco, with a ros? kept by for a sunny day.

We love? The adorable napkins, all made by Federico’s Mamma in Italy.

Top table? There isn’t one but the sequoia redwood tables and classic French bistro chairs mean it’s all exceedingly comfortable
