7 Summer Makeup Must-Haves For Girls With Pale Skin

7 Summer Makeup Must-Haves For Girls With Pale Skin

It’s always tougher to embrace your translucent tones in the summer months. Sporting a tan equates to that glowing look we all aspire to have when the sun shines, but it isn’t a look that appeals to all women. As well as that, the recent increase in knowledge about sun damage and the risks therein means it’s becoming more and more fashionable to embrace your natural skin tone?- pale skin is back and having its moment in the sun, metaphorically speaking anyway. Celebrities like Dita Von Teese, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone, Rooney Mara, the Fanning sisters, and Cate Blanchett are all living proof that you don’t have to reach for the bronzer to look beautiful.?But, pale skin is quite high-maintenance; you must, must, must wear a daily SPF and finding the right beauty products – the ones that make your skin truly shine – can be tricky. Below we have an edit of some of our favourite products – some new mixed with some classics – for those looking to highlight their ethereal skin to the max during summer days and nights:

NARS Cheek Tint in Orgasm, €32

NARS’ now cult classic Orgasm blush?is a favourite for a reason: it literally suits every skin tone but particularly shines on paler hues. Their gorgeous new orgasm cheek tint is joy in a bottle; it sets on skin seamlessly, giving an instant, naturally flushed glow and is the best blusher I’ve used in months.

Rosie For Autograph M&S Lip Glossy, €17

Launching her debut beauty collection with M&S, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s ?Lip Glossy? is a balmy, hydrating colour stick that leaves the lips feeling nourished and looking silky soft is a gem and ideal for a natural daytime look. It’s my favourite tinted lip balm to wear, and the entire line of colours pop against translucent tones.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup in Shell, €38

A gorgeous shade match with full coverage, now with a medium coverage finish counterpart released and a lighter variation soon to hit the shelves.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose, €42.50

These are quite simply the stuff of which dream powder blusher products are made. The rose-hued block contains five strips of colour each, and when used in a single blusher brush stroke, your cheeks become infused with a shimmered glow. If you’re not a fan of using a highlighter, this will do the trick just as well and can be built up if needed.

MAC Face & Body Foundation In White, €32

It’s like the Holy Grail of pale skin; finding a foundation the right shade of white. And if you can’t find a foundation that’s light enough (or if you find one with a great formula but not-so-great shade range), you can easily tweak it to your liking by adding some MAC Face And Body Foundation in White. It is literally pure white, so by mixing this with a slightly-too-dark foundation,?you can rid it of its orange tint. It’s also great for some other areas – decolletage, shoulders if you want to cover any small blemishes and give your skin added polish over the summer months.

Essie Nailpolish In Bare With Me, €9.99

Essie’s new wild nudes collection features nine, gorgeous nude nail polishes, all of which enhance pale skin to perfection. My favourite of the collection, Bare With Me (second from the top) is a creamy?apricot toned polish that is the perfect barely-there summer hue for your fingertips.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche ?clat Concealer, €35

This one is a firm favourite for me during the summer months. You can apply this on bare skin or over make-up. It not only conceals, its unique highlighting effect means you look instantly radiant and fresh. It can be used as a highlighter or concealer (or both), instantly brightens the eye area.
