Kate Parker Proves Strong is the New Pretty

Kate Parker Proves Strong is the New Pretty

As has been our tendency in the past, we’ve thought it necessary to clean up our kids and don them in their Sunday best before sitting them down for some professional photographs. But little girls are far more than just ‘pretty’; they’re bold, boisterous, adventurous, playful and after a day spent discovering what’s out there to be discovered, they’ll likely be a little dirty too.

Here, photographer Kate Parker challenges the once traditional clich? that presents little girls as prim and proper with a series of shots that capture her girls (Ella and Alice) and their pals in their most natural, life-living, life-loving states. Now this is what you call beautiful.

Parker’s photo series – which she began work on over 3 years ago as nothing more than a hobby – has now, according to The Stylist, grown into a body of work referred to as ‘strong is the new pretty’. Needless to say, Parker’s work has been warmly received the world over after going viral thanks to CNN last Friday.
