The Hair 2017 Hair Trends That We Already Want

We know there’s still a good few days left of 2016, but we thought we would kick-start your new year excitement with a preview of upcoming hair trends for 2017. Warning: you may want to book your next hair appointment asap…#SorryNotSorry

Accessories

Giving a nod to the 90’s, hair accessories have made a prominent appearance for the first time in a few years and they’re bigger and bolder than ever.?From bright and shiny diamantes and geometric futuristic cubes to sweet and sophisticated?gold-plated stars adorning your hair, you can’t really stray in the wrong direction with accessories in 2017; but maybe just leave the scrunchy?at home.

Braids

As seen at Detacher, Armani,?Fyodor Golan, ?and Preen, the classic and neat three-strand twist was given a tough update on the spring summer ’17 runways. Opt for a number of twists instead of the traditional one twist for a look that’s edgy, fresh, and clean. Use Toni & Guy sea salt texture spray to tame fly-away hairs and give the hair a more manageable texture.

Middle split

Hiding behind bangs all the time? For quite some time sweeping side and full fringes have reigned supreme, but now designers are all about embracing and framing the face; opening up the eyes (which are the windows to the soul, after all). Choose either a sleek finish like Versace or keep your tresses soft and wavy for a natural finish. We’re loving this trend because it requires minimal effort and it’s quick for early morning meetings. As seen at Acne, Burberry,?Oscar De la rente,?Roland Mouret,?Versace, and Lanvin.

Micro fringe

The total exposure of forehead and eyebrows is what reimagines the classic fringe in a cool, expressive and futuristic fashion. Try tailoring your cropped ‘do? by adding rigid and jagged cuts or keep it slick and sophisticated with a straight razor cut. But remember micro-crops of any type require commitment. If you’re lacking a little confidence, but still want to go micro, why not start slowly by having an extra inch cut off each time you visit the salon? Let the world see what’s hiding behind those bangs, even if it’s slowly but surely. As seen at Vetements, Temperley?London, House of holland, Givenchy, Damir’dana, and Vionnet.

Neon Hair

Perhaps the most bizarre of the up-coming hair trend is this: glow in the dark hair. Maybe not for the faint-hearted, but UV hair was the ultimate goal for any 90’s kids. Created by American stylist Guy Tang, the craze has hit Instagram by storm and really is #hairgoals.?To create the neon rainbow colours?Tang uses Kendra Color Creative Neon Collection Dye. The results are pretty spectacular. Watch Tang’s hypnotic Youtube transformation below.
