Kim Sears And Andy Murray Welcome First Child

Tennis star Andy Murray and his wife, the artist Kim Sears, have welcomed their first child, the BBC reports. The couple are proud and healthy parents to a baby girl. Her name has not yet been revealed. The newest addition to the Murray family was born on Sunday night. The couple were married last April in Dunblane, Murray’s hometown,?after nine years of dating.

Murray was worried he would possibly miss the birth of his daughter, especially if she arrived earlier than anticipated. Last month the Scottish athlete was participating in the Australian Open and he told media outlets he would fly home as soon as he heard news from his wife. Thankfully none of that clashing came to pass and Murray was home in time to be there for Kim.

Murray has been very open in interviews about how he was looking forward to the changes fatherhood would bring. He said: “My child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me, than a tennis match. It’s a big change for me and my wife, but that’s the current priority and I’ll see after that. I have no idea how that will change things. I still love tennis.”

Between Andy and David Beckham, we’re loving all this public embracing of fatherhood.
