5 Celebrities Who Should Launch Lifestyle Brands

A celebrity without a lifestyle brand and website is like the endangered bluefin tuna without a bicycle.

Last week Reese Witherspoon joined the likes of Blake Lively and Gwyneth Paltrow and turned her Southern Charm into a money spinner with the launch of a fashion label called Draper James. Certain dresses and bags sold out on the first day of trading and Reese has been busy pushing the brand on her social media.

Digging this @draperjamesgirl shot @ElleUSA! And had so much fun modeling with you @rubyamanfu! ( by @_jeanfrancoiscampos; full article is in my profile.) ?????? #Proud #NashvillePride

We have to admit, that denim shirt is all kinds of cute. And Reese rarely makes a misstep on the red carpet. The Draper Jones collection is wearable and adorable overall. There’s even a tote bag emblazoned with the words ?Totes Y?all?.

However, we’re a? bit bored by all the safe celebrities wading into e-commerce. It’s all a little bit samey. It’s aspirational living in fifty shades of beige. Where are the bold stars? Or the ones who take risks that make them beloved fashion icons?

Here we list the five celebrities we’d love to see spearheading their own Goop-esque empire.

1.??? Kris Jenner

Love her or hate her, one can learn a lot from the matriarch of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. For instance, planning. Kris has to juggle a lot. A lot of filming schedules. A lot of ambitious daughters. We think Kris could take on organisational chic. Imagine KJ branded notebooks, phone covers that stop you breaking your smartphone every six months, iPad covers. Kris could then move into the task management app space and be a tech world queen like Kim with her Hollywood game.

2.??? Diane Kruger

This woman is impeccable. Her every red carpet move is the last word in elegance. So why isn’t is she pulling a Victoria Beckham and bringing her lifetime’s experience in wearing frocks to the masses? We think that a capsule Diane Kruger label for a major department store would be a beautiful thing indeed.

3.??? Chrissy Teigen

Anyone who follows the model on social media knows one cardinal truth: this girl can cook. Chrissy shares her home cooked attempts on Instagram all the time. She’s already working on a book. Why not a utensils line and a television show? Chrissy Teigen has the potential to be the Martha Stewart of our generation.

4.??? Jane Fonda

Yes, we know Jane Fonda was in this game long before anyone else thought to sell their souls via spandex. Fonda’s workout videos are a thing of Youtube hangover beauty. (Here’s the link.) However, we’d love to see the luminescent actress make the move to cashmere. Hear us out. In her new Netflix sitcom, Grace and Frankie, she plays a woman who discovers her husband of many decades is, in fact, gay and wants to marry his long-term lover. Jane wears this lovely biscuit coloured cardigan in the pilot while she gets drunk on a beach and comes to terms with her life’s collapse. We would buy Jane Fonda approved polo necks, and you know you would do.

5.??? Anna Kendrick

We share our girl crush on Anna Kendrick with most of the internet. She just seems like a lovely person. She’s funny on Twitter and in interviews. She wears cute fitted dresses. Her movies are great. Anna saved a capella from the Glee graveyard of lame with her turn in Pitch Perfect. She is more than capable of committing further impossible deeds and could start a genuinely likeable lifestyle website. She’s already one of Kate Spade’s campaign girls, so that’s the first capsule accessories line sorted. Imagine Anna Kendrick launching a beauty line? There would be wearable glosses, dreamy blushers, and great shampoo. However, we think Anna should almost certainly start with a range of onesies. Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley, eat your lean-and-clean heart out.
