Butlers Cup for SVP

Butlers Cup for SVP

Want to help people while enjoying a luxurious cup of heart-meltingly good hot chocolate? Well mark ?Butlers Cup for SVP? in that Moleskin because the annual event marks its second anniversary today and will raise much-needed funds for Ireland’s leading charitable organisation, St. Vincent de Paul. Butlers Chocolate Caf’s around the country are donating their sales from all hot drinks sold to the charity and hope to exceed last year haul of €24,000.

The St. Vincent de Paul fights poverty through food, fuel and education and is committed to bringing awareness of poverty in Ireland to the forefront of the political agenda. 700,000 people are living in poverty in this country today, including 200,000 children. Since 2009 SVP have seen an increase of 104% calls for assistance with fuel and energy requests going up by 200%. Geoff Meagher of SVP stresses the importance of initiatives like ?Butlers Cup?. ?We rely heavily on both public donations and fund-raising activities in order to help the many people who continue to struggle to maintain a basic standard of living. We thank Butlers Chocolates once again for organising this day and urge the public to support this event.”

People can donate to the cause by clicking here if they cannot make it into a Butlers Caf? while altruistic customers can tweet @butlerschocs with their purchase.
