Ed Sheeran Is The Go-To Man For Romantic Wedding Proposals

Ed Sheeran Is The Go-To Man For Romantic Wedding Proposals

It seems singer Ed Sheeran, who played some incredible gigs at Croke Park this weekend, is becoming the go-to man for romantic wedding proposals. Just last weekend he helped a Little Mix member get engaged, and this time, it was a member of Kodaline who asked the same honour of him.

Bass player Jay Boland from Kodaline took to the stage yesterday evening (they were surprise guests at the gig, along with Glen Hansard) as Ed crooned away to get down on one knee and pop the question to his clearly shocked girlfriend. Kodaline were playing with Sheeran and as they finished up a song, another band member turned to him and said: “Jason, you’ve something to say?” And there in front of thousands, he did indeed say something.

Jay then proposed to his long-term girlfriend, music publicist Etaoin Corr, who said yes (how could you really say anything else in front of 80,000 people though?) as the crowd roared in approval behind them.

After the gig, Sheeran tweeted: “Thank you to Kodaline and Glen Hansard for joining me on stage today to sing some tunes. And congratulations to Jay, what a way to propose!”

We think it’s fairly safe to say that the Kodaline gang stole the show.

Is it too much to hope that we’ll get a similar proposal? Probably but congratulations to the happy couple, and well done Ed. We wonder who he’ll help next?
