Fans of Ed Sheeran and Game of Thrones are about to lose their minds; the singing sensation is on his way to making an appearance in the massively successful TV series. And it’s not just that he quite fancies the idea of it, he’s actually in talks with HBO about getting involved after he missed out on the chance to appear as an extra a few years back due to scheduling conflicts. Since then, Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol fame and Coldplay’s Will Champion earned themselves brief cameo spots in 2013.
When he gets the time to enjoy it, Ed’s a huge TV fan; he was particularly obsessed with Irish treasure Love/Hate and he’s already starred in Home and Away and Sesame Street.
Ed declares his GoT love to The Sun newspaper: ”There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it’s the time I tour in the UK. ‘But I’ve got that time off this year, so I’m going to hound them.”
He’s mates with Maisie Williams and Kit Harington, both of whom star in prominent roles, so he reckons it’s a goer.
”If you watch the Glastonbury footage of my gig, Maisie’s on someone’s shoulders the whole time.”
But what kind of role would you like to see him get? An evil Joffrey-like character? Or a flame-haired love interest for the likes of Khaleesi?
