Groove will be hands down the most relaxed of all summer festivals. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Kilruddery Estate between Bray and Greystones, it’s a hassle-free festival that’s shed the worries of camping and travel.

What’s more, its family-friendly vibe is reminiscent of the now sadly disbanded Flat Lake festival and does much to give it its laid-back vibe. The winding down happens thanks to spaces such as the lily garden and the natural amphitheatre combined with the billing of soul, r’n’b, roots, funk and rock’n’roll.

The big acts for this year are Imelda May, Damian Dempsey and James Morrison, along with some choice acts from across the country at The Whelan’s Live stage. The food stalls are likely to impress, what with Master Chef John Coughlan in attendance along with many other niche vendors and caterers. But Groove gets top trumps this year for one major reason – it’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend (mid-twenties!). So don’t make us state the obvious – just get it on.

Roisin Agnew @Roxeenna will be cracking out the baby oil for this sunny weekend.
