Hot Ranelagh: The Butcher Grill

Hot Ranelagh: The Butcher Grill

The outstanding staff (Grainne and Jane in particular) at TBG are so patient that even our recent (outrageous) blind-tasting stint didn’t faze them in the least. Having asked for one of every kind of steak they had on special so we could compare and contrast, they humoured our large party by putting postits on the bottom of the plates to keep things fair and square. BTW, the winner, handsdown, was the Donald Russell ribeye. Medium rare with a side of cauliflower cheese, it’s a dream, especially if you’re battling to keep the carbs in check. We also love the barbecue short ribs with creamed celeriac washed down with artisanal cider for an apple-y counterpoint. Portions are generous- in fact, we’ve never managed dessert. And that’s a first.
