Katie Hopkins Gets Fat

Katie Hopkins Gets Fat

Katie Hopkins interview.

Katie Hopkins, the woman we collectively love to loathe seems set on a one way path towards earning the title of Public Enemy No. 1. It seems every now and then this former UK Apprentice contestant feels the need to embark on something outrageous and offensive, be it declaring that we should all judge kids on their names, or the latest, putting on weight for a two part TV show for the sole purpose of showing all those struggling with their weight that it’s actually really easy to lose weight.

We’ll just let that sit with you for a moment.

Right, once you’ve stopped fuming, we’ll continue.

As per Susanne Courtney of The Telegraph, Hopkins has decided to take on Katie Hopkins: Journey to Fat and Back,?because as she says herself, she was sick of hearing people’s excuses for being fat and wants to prove that “it’s easy to lose weight”.

And you’ll probably want to scream some abuse at your computer screen again at this point, but please, don’t shoot the messenger. We feel your rage.

Of course this is a ridiculous premise for a TV show and almost laughable when you consider that Hopkins is just one person, and with a production team, fitness experts and nothing to do other than focus on losing the weight she’s just put on, of course she’ll do it. But as Courtney says, this won’t prove anything.

Any one of us could shed pounds with ease if we poured every drop of energy into doing so, but the rate of success will vary hugely from person to person, depending on things such as lifestyle, genetic predisposition and lots more. So really, this is nothing more than an opportunity for Hopkins to reinforce her position as a professional pain in the proverbial, and a chance for us at home to enjoy some popcorn as we hate-watch her latest comical venture.

Turns out, however, that Katie is now upset with the lengths to which she has gone for the sake of this mini docu-series, but she’s not blaming herself, she’s blaming fat people.

‘This is a stupid project… I hate fat people for making me do this,” said Hopkins in clips aired on This Morning with Holly Willoughby (who absolutely detests the woman) and Philip Schofield, to which her husband aptly responds “well, it was your idea.”

In case you were beginning feel sorry for the woman who describes herself as a ‘witch with a heart of stone’, here’s some more of choice words which pre-empted her decision to take on this challenge:

“Would I employ you if you were obese? No I would not. You would give the wrong impression to the clients of my business. I need people to look energetic, professional and efficient. If you are obese you look lazy”; “Every fat child lives in the shadow of a fat parent”

And on Lily Allen’s pregnancy “she looked pretty hideous”. She also told our own Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show that she doesn’t like sitting next to fat people on planes.

And breeeeeathe.

Dare we ask, what’s your take on Miss Hopkins? Do you think there’s really no light in that heart of hers or is this all an act?
