La Dolce Vita

A cool beer and a classic movie – how ideal can a Summer evening get? This season sees the Italian beer company, Peroni, launch Cinema Peroni, a planned series of film screenings celebrating Italians cinematic heritage. And the iconic beer. Cinema Peroni promises nothing but glamour with participary theatre, apertivo and one amazing movie.

Last week saw it all kick off with La Dolce Vita, the 1960 classic, in the charming surroundings of Le Cool’s South Studios in Dublin 8. This tale of a gossip journalist navigating the wild nightlife of Rome features fictional Hollywood starlets wading into the Trevi Fountain, bikini parties in the shadow of the Vatican, divine suits and Persol sunglasses.

The costumes even won an Academy Award that year. Attendees were invited to play along and dress up like the cast of this glamorous morality tale. Our photographer Alain Vient captured the movie buffs in their finery. Hello immersive cinema…
