Ren?e Zellweger Doesn’t Care What The World Thinks About Her Appearance

Bridget Jone’s Baby is about to be released and we’re beyond excited. Momentum has started to build for the new installment already with Bridget Jones herself, the always wonderful Ren?e Zellweger starting the press circuit. ?In a new interview, comments were once again made about her “changed” appearance a year or two back. Granted on this particular red carpet outing, there was no denying the actress’ recognisable facial features looked different, but we believe no one has any right to judge her for making choices regarding her own face and body. While it would be marvellous to embrace age with the utmost confidence – lines, wrinkles and all – it’s safe to say that we all have at least one feature we’d happily see changed so we’d never pass judgement to anyone for being brave enough to embrace something new. We get why the conversation started, but at this stage, it’s tiresome that Zellweger is continually questioned about it.

She decided to address the questions directly in the NBC Today interview – in which she looked happy, healthy and glowing – and put rest, once and for all, to the tabloid fodder. In short: she doesn’t care what anyone thinks, because, she’s too busy living a real life to be concerned?with the dark corners of the internet.

When asked by host Sheinelle Jones if the comments about her change of appearance bother her, she said: “It’s not really part of my life. It’s part of the job that I don’t really experience except when I step into this arena.”

?I know it sounds pretty unlikely that a person might be able to make herself, keep clear of those words or of that experience, but I have and it takes effort. But I have succeeded.?What good comes from knowing that something like that has happened? Less fear.?

“In my home I’m not aware of it,” she continued. “I don’t do any kind of social media, so I don’t see it. I like to have – I guess you would call them real experiences.”

Well said?Ren?e. As a star who has lived her life under the constant scrutiny of the public eye, we applaud her classy rebuke.

For the record, she has always’maintained that she embraces change in her life and views any comments made in this regard as a positive.

At the time, she told People Magazine: “I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happier, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”

She clearly doesn’t give two hoots about Internet gossip to which we say: never change Ren?e.

Her co-star Colin Firth’s appearance will undoubtedly?have “changed” also as it’s his third outing in a Jones film, and the tabloid fanfare surrounding this is suspiciously quiet…
