1. This week’s TIME magazine didn’t hold back on their cover story “Russia’s social media war in America.”  It’s been a decade since TIME didn’t have a cover line.

2. The late graffiti artist Basquiat’s Untitled (1982) was expected to sell for at least $60million in Sotheby’s and after ten minutes of bidding set a new auction record for a U.S. artist, a record previously held by Andy Warhol. It sold for $110.5 million.

With the success of The Handmaid’s Tale, CBC and Netflix are debuting a miniseries based on Alias Grace, the Margaret Atwood novel of an Irish immigrant named Grace Marks convicted of the 1843 murders in Canada of her employers Thomas Kinnear and his housekeeper Nancy Montgomery. Sarah Polley wrote and produced the series and it was directed by American Psycho‘s Mary Harron. Watch the trailer here.
