The Library Project

The Library Project, an offshoot of Photo Ireland, was set up in 2011 and has dedicated itself to gathering together stunning photography publications. Easily the most gratifying type of book to open, their collection includes over 900 items, from tomes by large publishing houses to self-published zines. The remarkable catalogue can be browsed online and a curated selection will be on display for the month of September. Screen_Shot_2013-09-17_at_13.12.54Call into No 4 Temple Bar (the old Monster Truck space) and peruse the covers and spines. Choose a book – by colour, publisher, artist or whatever naturally catches your eye – flick through for a quick look and take a seat if you like it. You’re guaranteed to be drawn to something, or stroll up onto the mezzanine area where you’ll find prints from Photo Ireland’s 2013 artists available to purchase and take home. What a lovely, indulgent contribution to the city.
