Watch: ‘Orange’ Stars Slam Sexist Interviewer

Watch: ‘Orange’ Stars Slam Sexist Interviewer

Orange Is The New Black

There’s nothing we like to see more than female actresses standing up and honouring their work. So when these three Orange is the New Black Stars shut down this completely, blatantly sexist interviewer, we just thought it was the best thing ever. Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne and Samira Wiley can definitely hold their own and know exactly how to answer some very boring and very sexist interview questions.

The girls sat down with the interviewer who is (a complete tool, sorry), a Brazilian comedian named Rafael Cortez and the whole thing was disrespectful and odd right from the very start. To be fair, there were some very funny moments, too. ?Maybe the interviewer simply thought he was joking and being funny, but he seemed like he seriously expected the actresses to answer some of the ridiculous questions.

?Would you like to see my muscles?? he asked (quite seriously, we think). And the simple, perfect answer: ?No.?

The stand out moment for us was when he asked them if they thought, their “beauty gets in the way of [their] work?? (He really does ask them that question). Lyonne struggled to answer or see the funny side with this one, and retorted perfectly: ?I feel like this is accidentally maybe a little bit misogynistic,? she said.

And rounded off with a response almost too perfect:

?Despite great beauty on the show, everybody is professional and talented and very capable,” Lyonne continued. “So I don’t think that really anybody is really thinking about something as meaningless as their beauty when they’re at work or certainly not on this show.?

You rock ladies. Watch the full thing below:

What do you think of the interview? Should we see the funny side a bit more or is it as bad as we think it is?
