What Would You Change About Your Body?

What Would You Change About Your Body?

what would you change about your body video

This has to be one of the most poignant and lovely explorations into the magic and innocence of youth. In this video, 50 people are asked one simple question: if you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?

The video begins as adults answer the question as honestly as possible. Some would change their skin that’s bothered them their whole lives, while others long to be taller or yearn for smaller ears after years of unwanted mocking. Of course, there’s scarce an adult who doesn’t have at least one thing they dislike about their appearance, but as this video shows, that’s something we only develop as we get older. As the video’s focus shifts towards the kids, we’re reminded of a time when such complexes didn’t exist, when it doesn’t occur to you to be unhappy with your appearance because you’re too busy enjoying the world around you and all it has to offer; you’re comfortable in your own skin and you don’t think to question it. Adorably, one kid wishes for a shark-like mouth while another would pick fairy wings if she had a choice.

‘I don’t think there’s anything to change’ said one young girl, thoughtfully, while another smiled and said ‘I like my body actually.’

It’s a beautiful, evocative video that makes us stop for a moment and think, when was the last time we were comfortable in our own skin?

A hard one to answer, you’ll probably agree. Let’s try to be kinder to ourselves, shall we?
