Who’s Your Woman Crush?

Who’s Your Woman Crush?

There’s no love for Kim Kardashian among Irish women despite her very strong Instagram following, 26 million and counting, according to a survey carried out this week ascertaining Irish women’s woman crushes.

The Vaseline Valentine’s survey asked 100 female participants a range of questions relating to the dreaded Valentine’s Day. Finding that one in three women will be spending the festival of romance alone, it also revealed that those in relationships didn’t seem to care about the significance of the day, with 61% saying they wouldn’t mind if their partner forgot the day entirely. Nearly half said they’d rather send their friend a card over their significant other.

Which leads us to the concept of the woman crush. The woman crush is when one has strong platonic feelings towards another woman and feels that friendship is a sure thing. Vaseline decided to find out which famous gals are Ireland’s most sought-after woman crushes and the results are somewhat surprising, except for the top spot.

Jennifer Lawrence nabbed the top spot with an overwhelming 55%. This is probably down to the fact that the movie star keeps things incredibly real and isn’t afraid to let her freak flag fly in interviews. There was also the noble way she handled the ‘scandal? last year when personal and intimate photos of her were leaked online. She told Vanity Fair at the time, “Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, ?Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.? I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.?

Here’s a reminder of just how funny and humane J.Law can be.

In second place came Emma Watson, future Beauty and the Beast star and UN ambassador. Emma is such an incredible role model, balancing her career with women’s rights, it makes sense for her to be held in such high regard.

We’re delighted to see Sophia Amoruso place third (12%). The Nasty Gal founder is a big cheerleader for women in business and always promote her #GirlBoss manifesto. Maybe some of that money making instinct will rub off on us? Kerry Washington came out of the blue in fourth place (5%). Turns out Irish women love political drama meets crazy emotional soap opera Scandal. And let’s spare a thought for poor Kim Kardashian only managed to poll at 4%.

Is there anyone else you felt should have featured on the list? Let us know in the comments below.
