Scenic Salthill was the location for the annual Oireachtas Media Awards, organised by Oireachtas na Gaeilge since 1999. It was an opportunity to celebrate those who made an outstanding contribution to the Irish language media sector over the past year. RT’s Aengus Mac Grianna was fear an ti playing master of ceremonies, and kept his audience entertained from start to finish. Over 200 people enjoyed a champagne reception in the hotel’s conservatory amidst beautiful views, before retiring to the Lettermore Suite for the awards ceremony. Savoury canap’s were served, including prawns, smoked salmon and a choice of Asian delicacies. A truly rewarding evening for all.
