People joined forces at Killashee House Hotel in Naas for a special charity event in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust and its services for people in need in the county.
The impetus behind the initiative comes from self-made businesswoman Jackie Lavin. Speaking about the event, Lavin explained, “I set up a committee of Kildare girls a few years back with Margaret Beere, Aileen Morrin, Sheila Zebedee, Caroline O’Brien, Ber Lowe, Mary Dunne, Anna McMahon & Teresa Forde. We’ve been running events for charity, such as St Vincent de Paul, ever since. This year, we’re delighted to be able to help Peter McVerry expand his homeless services in our county. Many local companies took tables for what was really fun and festive Party Night”.
Patricia had those in attendance all rocking to her new band “City Chic“. Artistes Mundy & Paddy Casey played their unique style of music for such the great cause. Kathy Nugent sang some Shirley Basseywhile Lorraine Keane brought her own style and glamour to the night alongside Brian Purcell.”

Peter McVerry Trust has supported thousands of young people in need through a range of accommodation and support services for more than thirty years. In Kildare specifically, operates homeless services in the form of supported temporary accommodation in Newbridge, an out-of-hours information and advice freephone service, step
