Some of Ireland’s leading stylists joined Charlotte Temple, retail and design director of Magee 1866 and the fifth generation of the Temple family at the helm of iconic Irish brand Magee 1866, for breakfast and a preview of Magee 1866’s SS17 menswear and womenswear collections.

Joining Charlotte were leading stylists Holly White, Cathy O’Connor, Irene O’Brien, Justine King, and Rob KennyXpose’s Cassie Stokes; Deirdre McQuillan, and many more of Ireland’s high-profile fashion press.Guests were treated to a catwalk show featuring the latest looks from Magee 1866, with models Yomiko, Sarah Morrissey and Karen Fitzpatrick showcasing the womenswear collectionwhile Alex, Stephen, and Darren from Assets modeled the men’s looks.

The collections reflect a real celebration of over 150 years of great Irish design and truly capture Magee 1866’s unique history, while also remaining on trend, contemporary and relevant. For menswear, attention to detail is key for the season ahead – think contrast stitch details and colourful opulent pattern linings. Texture and colour play an important part, adding depth and luxury, with key fabrics including natural silks and cool linens, lightweight wools and cotton. Styles include occasion suits, jackets, washed chinos, weekend knitwear, classic checks and print shirts.

The expanded women’s wear collection is inspired by the vibrant colours of springtime in Donegal, with bluein varying tones from bright sea blues and navies, to paler sky blues with hints of pinks, purples and creams. Fabrics include luxuriously soft silk, linen and cashmere, with exquisite tailoring, with styles including outerwear, knitwear, blouses, skirts and trousers.
