5 Inspiring Ways To Wear Colour

5 Inspiring Ways To Wear Colour

I love autumn, and the tactile textures and earthy colours that go with it. I’m happiest in polo-necks, cable knits, woollen trousers and boots. Yet, there is something addictive about wearing colour once you venture in that direction. I have a pair of orange palazzo pants and a cobalt blue top, which I wear together, and they?they always make me feel so fresh and modern. This outfit, and the way people react to me when I wear it (with a big smile) has made me rethink how I can incorporate vibrant shades into my wardrobe, whatever the season. Here are some inspiring street style outfits to get me (and you) started.

A graphic print feels less frightening to wear when its on a black base. Plus, a’simple cut like this fluid kaftan style?allows the colour to take cenre stage without any competition. I’d wear this with leather leggings when the weather gets chilly.

Make pink feel less pretty by choosing a raspberry-based hue?and pairing it with a boyish sweater in a neutral shade. The oatmeal coloured sweater allows?the pink skirt to really sing. The pleated folds also bring added texture.

Take a tailored approach. It’s brave, but impactful. The simple white button-front shirt keeps the whole look from appearing too outrageous, while the black accents temper this shade of chartreuse.

Toughen up summer brights with a distressed leather jacket and black heels. Coupled with a pair of cool shades, they make canary yellow look less flighty and more fashionably cool.

Add an athleisure hit?to vibrant brights. These pale pink trainers inject a low-key, unfussy vibe to this smart outfit. The pom-pom detailing adds a bit of fun, while nodding to one of next season’s biggest micro-trends.
