Kate Moss Leaves Modelling Agency After 28 Years

Kate Moss Leaves Modelling Agency After 28 Years

In a surprise announcement, supermodel Kate Moss is to part ways with Storm Models, the modelling agency that has represented her for almost three decades, according to the Daily Mail.

“After a successful 28-year relationship,?Kate?is moving her business in-house, and we?will?continue to maintain an active involvement in our on-going deals for her,”‘said the agency.

Moss’ former representative is responsible for the fashion careers of hundreds of major fashion models including Cindy Crawford, Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen, Behati Prinsloo and, until recently, Cara Delevingne, who also left the agency to pursue her budding acting career. This also puts rest to the apparent rumour that there is animosity between Moss and the Paper Towns star; the word around the industry campfire was that Moss was displeased about Delevingne’s sudden exit from the agency.

According to reports, Moss will move forward pursuing her own ventures on a personal basis, but will still work with the management team on an ad-hoc basis. The supermodel has been with the group since she was first discovered by its founder Sarah Doukas in JFK airport aged 14, so her departure (and a sudden one at that) is considered a significant step, though considering her many other lucrative business?collaborations in the fashion and beauty world – Rimmel, Topshop, etc. – ?alongside her modelling, she by no means needs a third party involved in her career at this stage.

The split was said to have been “amicable,” though there’s been no word from Moss’ camp as to the particular reason she called time with her agency. There’s been no word of her plans to retire, so perhaps she simply wants to take full control of her own affairs, which after almost thirty years in the industry (and counting) she is well entitled to do.

The agency does, however, still have one Moss on its books in the form of Kate’s little sister, Lottie, who is slowly making her mark in the fashion world. She recently appeared in a Vogue editorial alongside Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid.
