One Jumpsuit Two Women: How To Wear In Your 20s And 40s

One Jumpsuit Two Women: How To Wear In Your 20s And 40s

Although there’s almost 20 years between my colleague Niamh O’Donoghue and me, we’re sartorial soul mates.?We’re consistently drawn to the same clothes, and although we have very different personal styles, we’re always excited and enthused by?how the other puts together an outfit. When we randomly arrived into the office yesterday morning in the same black Zara jumpsuit, we thought it was an opportunity to showcase how you can wear the same piece?in your twenties and your forties. Guess which is which!

How Marie Styles Her Jumpsuit

I don’t wear black very often because I think you?can easily?wind up looking generic, so on those occasions when I do choose it,?black feels quite distinct for me. Jumpsuits are a staple in my wardrobe because I prefer trousers to dresses, and a jumpsuit offers a nice point of difference. I’ve paired mine with a black thin-knit, longline cardigan with multicoloured panels from River Island. The blue top is from Whistles and injects some colour close to my face as well as depth to the overall?look, while the (slightly battered but loved) tan suede boots from Zara dress the whole outfit’down a little. Black boots could feel a little ordinary, like an afterthought.

How Niamh Styles The Same Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit is my perfect “midweek” outfit: it hangs loosely on my body, it’s easy to wear, I can run around in it all day, and it’s comfortable. My wardrobe contains several?jumpsuits like this one: they’re a nice substitute for?wearing suit pants or jeans. I kept my look quite monochromatic, except for a hint of contrasting vibrant orange, which has the?perfect springtime vibes. Wearing bright shoes?like these Stella McCartney espadrille-style?trainers is a fun and creative way to inject a pop of colour into an?outfit – especially if you’re wearing almost head-to-to black! Paired with a matching orange lipstick and a messy bun, I was ready to go!
