Your SS17 Starting Points

SS17

Yeah, it’s cold outside, but these new season trends can be worn come hail, rain or shine. From fuschia to frilly sleeves, here’s how to anchor your spring/summer wardrobe.

STATEMENT SLEEVES

Ruffled, pleated, overlong and oversized, sleeves are the sartorial talking point for SS17. If you prefer not to have a standout silhouette, embellishment or print will work just as well as a conversation starter. Ellery’s gathered sleeves (above) feel totally fresh for spring.

A SHIRT DRESS

From Monse’s deconstructed shirting to Margaret Howell’s full-skirted 1950s style, shirt dresses peppered the SS17 runways. Wear yours whichever way you please, be that overtly feminine as seen at Delpozo or utterly pared back as appeared on the DKNY runway.

THE PRINT STRIPES

This year, think outside the traditional nautical box and embrace stripes in an unapologetically feminine guise.Summery shades, girlish silhouettes and sheer fabrics balance beautifully the rigidity of stern stripes.
