Your March guide to fashion.
Australian fashion designer Toni Maticevski knows what women want. In a recent interview with IMAGE he revealed, “the styles and the aesthetic of my designs communicate confidence, power and sensuality which I feel are characteristics that most women have or desire.” Of course, this is what inspired his SS17 collection (as shown, above) in which strong, architectural silhouettes are given a ladylike spin in soft and supple fabrics. “It was a real balance between natural and engineered.” On Irish design, he commented, “I appreciate and admire the diverse directions of designers JW Anderson, Simone Rocha and Richard Malone, who are prominent in our current market.” Maticevski’s collection is available in Brown Thomas.
EAR AND NOW
Drop earrings reigned supreme on the international SS17 catwalks. Yet, it was Cork-based designer Maria Dorai Raj’s contemporary creations that caught our eye. Imbued with a sense of modern luxury, these sleek and sculptural earrings will toughen-up your new season look. Drop earrings, €390 at mariadorairaj.com.
STYLE VS STEAL
