For their spring 2017 collection, Scandinavian brand S’strene Grene, apparently drew inspiration from a semester spent studying in 1960s La Belle Paris, and it shows. Parisian elegance and femininity is a pulling a strong current through the collection, yet the overall design is undercut by the label’s indigenous Scandinavian minimalism. Ceramics in organic forms as well as a natural colour palette with notes of cactus and rose are reflective of a lush woodland walks. Here are some of our favourites?
Velour chair €52.88 and velour textile pouffe €29.96
Some gorgeous key pieces feature, such as this chair, which is not a million miles from the shape of the much coveted Gubi Beetle Chair. The velour chair, with slim wooden legs and curving orbit back and arms, comes in a range of colours from steel grey to aqua to dusty green. If you feel the need to rest your feet, a beautiful companion to the chair is the textile/velour S’strene Grene pouffe, available in colours ranging from dappled green to steely grey.
Cream thistle-head vase €3.89
Nature is at play with the collection’s ornamental pieces, bringing a subtle element of spring buds. In particular, this globular, dotted cream vase is inspired by the head of a thistle, while stone-effect candle holders in grey and dusty pink are an off-kilter nod to springtime pebble skimming.
Trolley table €39.98
The S’strene Grene trolley cart brings a quirky edge to the collection, eschewing warm metals and refined glass for a sleek minimalistic finish. Have fun with it and introduce a trolley cart cocktail hour into an evening or two, or use to display some fresh peonies and tulips. They come in dusty mint and pink at only €39.98 each.
These are just a few examples of what lies in store for the collection launch on March 2, for more see SostreneGrene.com.?With some simple additions, a springtime Parisian home makeover is easy. ?Non, je ne regrette rien.
