This Jelly Bean And Wine Pairing Guide Is Perfect

We’re all for quirky food and drink combinations, but this is new to us. Those that have a sweet tooth prepare to indulge it with this newly released?wine and jelly bean pairing guide.?That’s right, wine and jelly beans are (apparently) the new peas and carrots, and the brain behind the concept is San Francisco-based?Gimbal’s Fine Candies?who produced the guide to help us all match our favourite flavours with the right bottle.

There is a’method behind the madness as the guide pairs seven different grape varieties with a quartet of jelly bean flavours designed to harmonise and enhance the flavours commonly found in wine: from a Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, right through to pinot noir, Cabernet and Champagne. ?The infographic was released on the back of National Candy Month in the US, and we’ll be printing off and laminating it so as to keep it forevermore.

As detailed below,’sweet, fruity flavours, like green apple, pomegranate, and kiwi strawberry smoothie, pair best with Rieslings. Meanwhile, citrus flavours, like lemon and key lime, go well with Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. And for those who are more partial to red wine, stronger ?flavours like chocolate and java will be complemented by Cabernet, while a glass of Merlot will round out the notes in jelly bean flavours such as toasted marshmallows and honey.

See below for the guide you never knew you needed (until now):
