Living Notes: June

Living Notes: June

As arrive into June, and clear blue skies are (hopefully) here to stay, it’s time to step out into nature, cocktail in hand, and enjoy those rays.?

Get out there

Garden furniture looking a little tired? You’d be surprised what a lick of paint can do to give your outdoor living space a lift. All you need is an inexpensive sander, a trip to the local DIY store, and a good quality outdoor paint. We love Cuprinol’s Morning Breeze (on table and bench) and Pale Thistle (on chairs), €13.95 per litre – two bright, airy shades that are sure to lighten your patio, and your mood. Just make sure you send round the invitations to show off all your hard work at every opportunity this summer. Catch Cuprinol’s Kaleidoscope Garden at Bloom in the Park, June 1-5, cuprinol.ie.

Nowhere like iT

If you haven’t popped into NoLIta yet, we imagine you will very soon – it’s set to be one of Dublin’s hottest night spots this summer, with a terrace (complete with retractable roof) that practically begs a cocktail order, a whiskey bar for connoisseurs, live music, plus wood-fired pizzas, antipasti and Italian dishes that are sure to keep groups happy through the evening. South Great George’s Street just keeps getting cooler and cooler, nolita.ie.

Get cooking, and growing

Want to seriously up your culinary game? Ballymaloe’s newest course is a six-week programme, running June 5 – July 14, on sustainable food, bridging the gap between cooking and farming in a sustainable way, €5,995, cookingisfun.ie.
