Your Sleeping Position Might Damage Your Health

Your Sleeping Position Might Damage Your Health

Sleep

Apparently, how you sleep says a lot about you. If you sleep in the fetal position, curled up like you’re still in the womb, you are apparently a worrier, looking for more comfort the tighter you curl. If you sleep straight, that indicates a rigid personality. Sleeping on your stomach apparently, means you feel like your life is out of control. If you sleep with your arms outstretched and on your side, apparently you have “a dream-chasing nature”.

We don’t know about all of that. This is what the research says about what your sleeping position means for your health.

ON YOUR BACK

If you ever suffer from back pain, or neck pain, this sleeping position is best recommended for you. If you are prone to heartburn, you should keep yourself propped up with several pillows to prevent acid reflux symptoms. Sleeping on your back will make snoring more likely, too.

ON YOUR SIDE

The nerves in your arms and legs can be compressed?by sleeping on your side. Experts say that keeping a pillow between your legs can stop you straining your back. Sleeping on your side has also been linked to acid reflux.

ON YOUR STOMACH

Sleeping on your stomach can cause neck strain, as you have to turn your head to breathe. Over time, this can lead to chronic pain problems.
