The Feel Good Factor – Cora Murphy

The wonderful Cora Murphy, founder of clinically-led homecare business The CARE Team

The wonderful Cora Murphy, founder of clinically-led homecare business The CARE Team has just been shortlisted for IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year 2014. We caught up with her to talk about getting sick loved ones home and out of hospital, keeping spirits high and the ever important ?feel good factor?.

What inspired you to set up The CARE Team?

We have definitely set the tone for the future of community care in Ireland. It’s all about getting people out of hospital and if needed replicating that environment at home.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to get involved in homecare industry?

You need to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. You need to be compassionate and have the ability to care for people. Also, having a great sense of humor is a must. Sick patients need people who are going to lift their spirts and introduce the? feel good factor?.

What personality traits do you think are essential for starting a home support organisation?

I think you need to be confident and driven, these are essential when yo
