Watch: How To Behave In Restaurants

While we all know the latest pop-up restaurants worth our Facebook check-in and the perfect brunch photo composition, somewhere along the way we’ve forgotten our table manners. What’s the deal with eating before everyone has been served when service is especially patchy? Is it really the height of bad behavior to snap before snacking?

Thankfully Vogue is here to give us a modern refresher course in how to behave when dining out. Young Manhattanite and Vogue Social Editor Chloe Malle, Candice Bergen’s daughter, has taken the fashion magazine’s famous 1948 Book of Etiquette and updated it for a new generation.

Selfies? Take them at the bar. Men stand up when a woman arrives – chivalry is supposedly dead but it still makes us swoon. As for texting and emailing, leave those modern tasks aside until your dining partner is going to the bathroom.
