Instagram is fast eclipsing Twitter as the online platform the cool kids are using, which comes as no surprise considering its filters make everything look good. It’s an immediate form of communication, providing instant gratification in the form of tiny hearts. Rather than thinking up a witty repartee simply snap a photo and watch as it goes viral – or at least gain a few neon hearts signifying mutual appreciation. Here are a few accounts worth showing the love ?

Derek Blausberg (@derekblasberg)
In Style magazine recently described this guy as NYC’s social media king and his circle of friends extends all over the world. His Instagram is a social merry-go-round from partying in Miami to chilling in Ibiza. Besties with Jessica Alba, chilling in Morocco with Henry Holland and one of the first to instagram a photo of Cara Delevingne’s first tattoo, there aren’t many who can rival his contact list. He’s on the guest list of every new hangout so this is one account likely to give you a serious case of FOMO!

Lauren Stevenson (@lstevensonpr)
Previously Head of PR at My Wardrobe and now a bigwig at Harrods, Ms Stevenson has snaps of all the latest must-have products from the next It bag to stunning A/W 13 collections. In between posting images of beautiful new season stock we get an inside look at how she lives the high life from Ibiza to London. Have a look-see although your bank account won’t thank you!

Fashion Toast (@rumineely)
Rumi Neely, a big name in blogging circles, regularly posts snaps of her edgy fashion sense coupled with photos of the stunning locations she’s visiting. If crotchet shorts happend to be her attire of choice, she Instagrams them and before you know it cream lacy shorts are everywhere from the high street to the girl sitting next to you on the bus.

Louboutin World (@louboutinworld)
If, like me, you’re a shoe obsessive, particularly heels with embellishments, stunning colours and that all-important red sole then you NEED to follow this account. Shoes and bags shot in pretty locations, a visual feast of all things gorgeous.

Rihanna (@badgalriri)
Although I wouldn’t advise following every celebrity Instagram account, Rihanna’s mix of grungy style and habit of making headlines is always a winner. From snaps of hash cakes to her latest riotous outfit, this 23 year old has the art of social media sussed.

Miroslava Duma (@miraduma)
A spell as editor of the Russian Harper’s Bazaar taught this savvy lady that online journalism was about to make it big. She then founded her website Buro 24/7, an amalgamation of art, fashion, music, architecture and cinema. Her Instagram account showcases her gorgeous style with the odd adorable photo of her two-year-old son thrown in for good measure.

Song of Style (@songofstyle)
Interior designer Aimee Song has a large social media following due to both her love of interior design and ?her regular outfit posts. Her dogs are her muses and she advocates good lighting and finding your best angle for that all-important selfie.

Anouska Proetta Brandon (@anouskapb)
Flying the flag for Irish fashion, this girl is busy making waves abroad. She’s based in Dublin but jet sets regularly to collaborate with Guess and European labels. Anouska’s images feature outfit posts as well as snaps of her daily life.

@Cathy_Donohue is Instagramming the life out of some poor salad.
