With its focus on low-fi simplicity, online publishers and hip event organisers Kinfolk’s popularity continues to grow. Each volume of their magazine contains work from a handpicked selection of artists and bloggers from across the globe and their themed dinner series has also been a huge success.
So it was really only a matter of time before they delved into the world of cookbooks and their first effort, The Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings (Artisan Books, around €45), is sure to get fans salivating. A collection of 85 simple, unfussy recipes, which, like the magazine, have been sourced “from creative types around the world”, the book features submissions from chefs, home cooks, designers, bloggers, and photographers. It aims to put the emphasis back on the relationships that surround eating, and boasts Kinfolk’s trademark mix of minimalist design, rustic touches, and achingly hip photography.
