2015 has been a good year for singer Ellie Goulding. She released a cracking new album, became an official member of Taylor Swift’s infamous #GirlSquad and gave a standout performance at the recent Victoria’s Secret fashion show. She rarely gets in wrong in the style stakes and now Goulding?has launched her first collaboration with MAC cosmetics. The range is refreshingly light and very wearable. At a time when dramatic make-up is ruling Instagram, the products give us a subtle reminder of what is to come next season:?peach, pink, and shimmery, shell-coloured metallics. Her premiere collaboration will be available in January 2016.
Inspired?by the light and dark dichotomy of her’music, the collection emulates the singer’s signature looks and features colours named after Goulding’s songs.
The Ellie Goulding range features all this, and products range from €20 – €55:
– Halcyon Nights eyeshadow in Starry Eyed cream high pearl, Hanging On and three other colours.
– Halcyon Days Cream Colour Base in red taupe brown, soft peachy brown and two other shades.
– Medium Dark Blot Pressed Powder in medium dark.
– Patentpolish lip pencil in Innocent nude beige and Revved Up creamy peach shades.
– Lipstick in mid-tone coral and warm seashell pink cremesheen.
– Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash mascara.
Other products include: Plushglass, Fluidline eye liner, Lustre Drops, Veluxe Brow Pencil, Powder Blush Duo, Lash mascara and three brushes.
“I wanted the collection to be literally what I wear,” she said. “Every single day I get asked what make-up I wear and what colours I use, so I wanted it to be a representation of me – what I do during the day and on stage.”
?I’ve definitely been through phases of trying things to make my face look different. But now I’m older I’ve grown this confidence that I never had before,” she explained. “Rather than change my features, I now wear make-up to enhance them – which is why I guess I’m drawn to natural shades like the ones in my Mac Halcyon Nights palette for eyes and cheeks. No woman ever has to rely on make-up for self-confidence. With my collaboration I want to encourage the idea that the natural look is still very beautiful. It’s like making the best of yourself isn’t it???Wise words indeed.
