There’s Now a Frozen Wedding Dress

There’s Now a Frozen Wedding Dress

Elsa The Snow Queen - Frozen

No one is letting it go just yet…

Two things young girls are conditioned to dream about – being a bride and being a Disney Princess. Those two fantasies can now co-habitate thanks to the news that Disney Consumer Products and designer Alfred Angelo?are teaming up to produce a Frozen inspired wedding gown. InStyle magazine got the exclusive on the Queen Elsa of Arendelle dress and the sketches promise ethereal wintery elegance as opposed to struggling-to-accept-the-whole-adulthood-thing.

Alfred Angelo’s Chief Creative Officer Michele Piccione told InStyle why Elsa is the sartorial inpiration of the moment for designers, stressing the anthemic qualities of her character, ?She is beautiful and elegant, and her inner beauty shines through when she is ultimately not afraid to embrace who she is with confidence and poise.? Piccone designed the dress and incoproated an ice blue flared sheath with a sweetheart neckline over-laid with layers of satin, tulle, and organza. The glitter and beading swirls to recreate the key scene when the Idina Menzel voiced character embraces her wintery transformation before building an ice palace, and winning an Oscar for Best Original Song.

However a Disney-inspired wedding dress isn’t anything new. The global brand have been capitalising on their grown-up fans in recent years, launching Disney Weddings & Honeymoons. Prospective brides can shop for gowns that subtly share the Disney princess aesthetic – Cinderalla is particularly influential with Tiana from The Princess and the Frog also on muse duties. Holiday packages are also another niche – boyfriends looking to pop the question can arrange bespoke engagement holidays to Disney Resorts. Here’s a selection of some of the wedding and bridesmaid dresses designed by Alfred Angelo.

Frozen obsessed brides will have to wait until January 2015 to test out the Alfred Angelo creation – so hold off on the themed Christmas wedding for another year. In the meantime keep your eyes on alfredangelo.com.

Would you go Disney for your wedding?
