Sophie Power and Darragh Mallon’met eight years ago in Dublin. Sophie works in marketing at Jo Malone in London; Darragh works at Bloomberg. Their wedding, held in South West France, was a very bespoke affair, with personal touches made by the couple’s family and friends.

The wedding of Sophie Power and Darragh Mallon was befitting of the manner to which this relationship first began: at the very first Arthur’s Day in Temple Bar when the pair were in college. Laid-back and informal, the day kicked off with a ceremony in a mediaeval church in a hilltop bastide, where Sophie, who works at Jo Malone London, wore a silk, satin and lace Lorafolk gown, paired with a Eugenia Kim hairpiece, Jenny Packham veil and flowers by Jenny Moss.

Afterwards, the 215 guests walked to the bride’s family home in Les Sines in South West France for a reception on the terrace and dinner and dancing in the barn. The uniqueness of this event was down to the personal touches made by family and friends: the two families built the bar, tables, and giant charcuterie boards out of recycled oak; Sophie’s grandmother made the bunting; her mother, Laura George, tie-dyed the napkins; family friend Patricia Masetti made everlasting porcelain buttonholes; other friends created illustrations for the wine labels and invitations and an ice cream cart out of an old bike and pallets; while the couple hand-printed welcome bags for every guest. The night concluded with a bonfire that lasted ?til sunrise.
