A whimsical, tipi affair on the family farmstead

VENUE?Adele’s grandparents? house in Co Cavan?PHOTOGRAPHS?Katie Farrell?WORDS Katie Phelan

THE HAPPY COUPLE?Adele Claire Coates, Bid Manager and Gene Tyrone Coates, Recruitment Officer ?live in Liverpool. They met On a night out with friends in Liverpool and?apparently fell in love after much determination and gin, or so says Gene.

THEIR WEDDING When Aussie Gene visited Adele’s family farm, his mind was totally made up – there was no better place for their wedding than right there with the cattle in Cavan. A hog roast and plenty of booze were Gene’s only other criteria, so Adele set about designing the kind of wedding that makes the IMAGE Brides team swoon. If there were an award for the best DIY wedding installation, these two would reign supreme; who knew that with some old bunk beds and a bit of fencing, you’ve got the makings of a classy lawn bar? With plenty of lanterns, gorgeous tipis and yards of bunting in soft pastel shades, Adele and her design team transformed a rural Cavan location into the ideal backdrop for a whimsical wedding.

Their guests said? That it was the best wedding ever (and we believe it)

Their super suppliers? ?Kudos to tipi providers Magnakata, for their flexibility and fairness, as well as photographer Katie Farrell for being able to capture every moment with perfection

Their biggest challenge? Organising the wedding from Liverpool and shipping all their materials to the farm ahead of time

Their best moments? The power cut (only for two minutes) and everyone singing Oasis? ?Wonderwall? in the dark. And the cows sauntering into the wedding portraits
