Do you need help with?navigating?your way through the new collections? Here, we get four fashion savvy shoppers to offer you a teaser of their AW wish lists. Next up on our list is Frieda Gormley.?

FRIEDA GORMLEY

Frieda Gormley grew up in Donnybrook in Dublin and began her fashion buying career at Dunnes Stores before moving to Topshop in London. WHICH TREND ARE YOU MOST EXCITED BY?

I love this season’s rich colour palette and how it has been interpreted across prints, embroideries and textures. WHICH DESIGNER DID IT BEST? I’m a big fan of what Alessandro Michele is doing at Gucci right now.

YOUR ADVICE ON HOW TO NAVIGATE THE NEW SEASON?

Embrace fashion’s new mood of colour, print and texture in a way that you’re comfortable with and layer those pieces with what’s already in your wardrobe. Invest in key items that will stand the test of time – a great coat, Merino knitwear, leather boots in a mid-heel – and then shop the high street for more trend-based pieces.

HAVE ANY IRISH DESIGNERS CAUGHT YOUR EYE?

Simone Rocha has spearheaded an Irish design revival and there is a real spotlight on that just now. I especially love the art nouveau-meets-modernist designs of Aideen Gaynor.

ONE ITEM EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE IN HER WARDROBE?

Wolford tights – they last forever and the quality is really worth the investment.

FRIEDA’S KEY PIECES

New British designer Alice Archer is making waves with her unique embroidery. I’m coveting her gingham embroidered shirt. It’s an investment for all seasons. It’s always difficult for me to choose one item from the House of Hackney collection as I wear it all. But if I had to,?it would be the Rosebury dress from my AW collection. I love the David Bowie quotes in the print. I love Gucci’s coiled serpent embroideries and their cracked gold leather GG block heel pumps. Frame offers the best denim, season after season, and I also have my eye on a cashmere knit from new British brand Elwin, based off Columbia Road in East London. They create distinctive and nontrend-led pieces and also share similar values of sustainability and ethical production to House of Hackney.
