Yesterday we speculated about the rumours surrounding Caitlyn Jenner possibly collaborating with MAC Cosmetics. Today we’re celebrating another Transgender heroine who has actually made history with her role as the face of a major beauty brand.
Make Up For Ever announced that Andreja Pejic would be the face of the brand back in April, and now the images from her first campaign have been made public. She shared some of the photos on Instagram, with the life-affirming and on brand caption: ?The world is as diverse as the 40 shades of@makeupforeverofficial Ultra HD foundation 🙂 wearing@ralphlauren”
Andreja has a tendency to make history. She was also the first transgender model to feature in a fashion editorial in American Vogue. She first attracted the world’s attention a few years ago when she walked in female fashion shows before transitioning, her sharp cheekbones a distinctive feature.
Her role with Make Up For Ever cements her status as one of the world’s leading models. The entire campaign is pretty stunning and is a major coup for the brand, especially after Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover garnered such positive attention. Andreja even addressed that news story in an interview with Yahoo!, saying that while there is ?a little bit more sensationalizing than I would like to see? the media are handling Caitlyn’s story ?better than it would have 10 years ago.?
Here are some more amazing shots from Andreja’s campaign.
