10 IMAGE staffers on the Irish brands they can’t get enough of
From unbeatable skincare and beauty brands to knitwear, notebooks and everything in between, Irish brands are at the top of our hit lists across the board. Here are just some of the homegrown Irish businesses we’ve been loving lately.
Dominique McMullan, Editorial Director, IMAGE.ie
There are so many Irish brands to love these days. A big portion of my skin care and makeup is Irish for no other reason than they are the best products out there. I can’t be without Cream Luxe Blush and Second Skin Foundation from Sculpted By Aimee.
POCO by Pippa’s Universal Glow is a new addition to my makeup bag that I know I will be stocking up on again soon. Skingredients and Pestle & Mortar are my ride-or-die duo for skincare. Pestle & Mortar recently released a Pro Strength Retinoid Night Oil called SuperStar +, and I have had so many compliments on my skin since using it. Skingredients Skin Shield is the best sun cream for a nice base and their Preprobiotic Cleanser is perfect for my sensitive skin.
Finally, a new addition to my lotions and potions are two from Forager, a gorgeous Irish company that uses wild ingredients and has nature’s healing powers at its core. Belly Balm, a gorgeous balm to aid period pains, and Daisy Balm – the healer of all boo-boos and loved already by my sons.

Over the last couple of years I have become more aware of what I am purchasing and I always try to support Irish when I am picking up new bits! If you look inside of my makeup and skincare bag you will find that 99% of the products are from Irish brands. Similar to Dominique, I am loving every single product from POCO Beauty at the moment. In particular, the On The Glow Colour Stick has become my favourite multi-use product. You can use it on your lips, cheeks and eyes to add a lovely pop of colour to the skin.
Every single skincare product I use is from female-founded Irish brands. At the moment, I am using a mix of products from Pestle & Mortar, Ella & Jo and Skin Formulas. I simply couldn’t pick one brand so I have a solid routine locked in using a selection of products from all three!
This year I have come to the realisation that haircare is just as important as skincare and body care. I was introduced to the Sea+Solu Moisture Melt hair mask in early January and I have already gone through a full tub. My hair has never felt so healthy or looked so shiny! The additional ‘Booster’ allows you to tailor the hair mask to suit your hair needs, whether it be anti-frizz, strength, moisture or volume.

I’m obsessed with all things skincare at the moment and have been loving Oxmantown’s Regenerating Facial Oil. As someone who suffered with quite severe adult acne, I was veryyyy sceptical about re-adding an oil into my nightly routine but I’m a convert.
I mix three to four drops with my moisturiser (highly recommend the Ultraceuticals Ultra DNA³ Complex Recovery Night Cream – it’s not by an Irish brand but is extremely good nonetheless!) and the glow is something else. It’s basically a superfood for the skin with loads of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and omega-rich oils to promote cell regeneration and skin elasticity. It’s also vegan and cruelty-free so you know, good for the planet too.

If you want to support more Irish brands, I recommend visiting your local flea market. I recently went to Le Zeitgeist Flea Market in Phibsboro and was introduced to so many small, homegrown brands I hadn’t heard of before. My favourite purchases lately have been a pair of dopamine-dressed earrings from Ma Belle Tante, a vintage football jersey from Rewind Retro, a skincare haul from Inkey List and the world’s comfiest (and stylish) fleece from Gym+Coffee.
I’ve also had my eye on a gorgeous Aran Sweater from Ireland’sEye knitwear, it’s in the shopping cart waiting for payday. My sister got one of their jumpers years ago and it still has a great shape and colour!

Both a perk and a pitfall of my job is spending my days looking at gorgeous products by Irish makers that I inevitably want to buy. A few that have been on my mind recently are artworks made from tufted Irish wool by Creamery Studios, dreamy dishes from Fermoyle Pottery, and beautifully made stools by Studio Harris.

I am quite proud to say that my skincare and makeup are predominantly Irish! I use the full range of Ella & Jo with their Melt the Day Away Cleansing Balm being my ultimate favourite. For my makeup, I have been loving the Sculpted Hydralip in mauve. The colour is perfect for everyday and my lips are kept moisturised during the chillier weather.
For my birthday last month, I was gifted a gorgeous My Name is Ted Door Phone Pouch which is stylish yet functional while I’m on the go with events.

I know I am late to the party, but I am a recent convert – and now obsessed – with Jennifer Rock’s Skingredients range! For whatever reason, probably because Jen herself is so youthful, I thought the range was more suitable for younger skin and I was too much of an old bag to get any value out of it.
But on the advice of my favourite facialist, Jade Guidon, at Dublin’s Fitzgerald Private Clinic, I am now religiously using the PreProbiotic Cleanser, Skin Veg Hyaluronic Serum and Good Fats Ceramide Moisturiser in that order, first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and have noticed a real lift in my skin. It just feels nicer – softer and smoother to the touch when I go to apply my make-up. And it doesn’t cost the earth. Total win!
I can also really recommend the SPF – it’s a mineral-based one so extra protective for fair skin but is not at all chalky. It has a lovely fluid texture that rubs in easily and doubles up as a glowy primer before you apply make up. Genius!

Instead of coming up with a crazy list of new year’s resolutions, I told myself that I would try and support more Irish brands this year, and so far I think I’m doing alright. It allows me to fuel my shopping addiction, and also means my money is supporting the Irish economy and my local businesses instead! These are my most loved, and most wanted items from Irish brands!
Pellador FC is possibly my favourite Irish brand at the moment – as a sports super fan, the idea of a knit jersey/jumper is simply life-changing! I remember my dad having a keyring that has since vanished from the press, which was a carbon copy of the Ireland World Cup 2002 kit – it was my favourite item in the house, and I would fight to be the one to have that key! It is no surprise that I am now coveting the Pellador FC Ireland 2002 Knit Jumper. Once this is back in stock, I will fight tooth and nail for it!
I spent years searching for the perfect black crossbody bag, and now I am never without ‘The Everything Bag’ from KALO! I also think the number one wardrobe essential is an oversized graphic tee, and this one from Emporium Dublin is no different! It’s definitely top of my wishlist for my spring/summer wardrobe.
I love a funky yet wearable piece of jewellery, and this Croía Jewellery Gold Love Heart Ring is simple and wearable, yet still cool and funky! Táim gafa leis an geansaí seo! I am obsessed with this DeBúrca Design Gaelic Revival Crewneck, and will 100% be purchasing for my spring wardrobe!

A couple of months back, I got a beautiful necklace from the lovely Rohmie of RJaded Jewellery with my initial on it, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite pieces. A ring is absolutely next on the agenda, and this Éire one is stunning.
As has been well documented by my colleagues above, the Irish skincare game is flourishing, and the Kinvara Skincare Rosehip Day Cream has become an integral part of my morning routine.
I’m constantly scrawling in a journal, and this gorgeous frothy sea cover from badly made books always manages to fill me with a sense of calm, making me pause for a little while as I’m frantically writing and take a little more time with the process.
I recently had a pint of Rolling Papers in Tigh Neachtains—it’s a hazy IPA from Bullhouse Brewery in Belfast—and I’ve fallen in love with the brand. Honestly, their packaging alone makes me want to buy the whole range.

My hair and scalp always feels dry during the winter months, my hairdresser recommended that I try Annutri Grow It Hair Supplement, which I started in January and within a couple of weeks noticed a difference.
Not only that, but friends also noticed a difference which I couldn’t believe. I am very excited to continue using Annutri for another couple of weeks and will ensure to include in my routine throughout the year.
