It seems that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might be secretly filming a Netflix documentary, as their recent visit to New York saw the couple accompanied by a videographer.
The couple signed a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix in September 2020 which was reported to include the production of documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.
As well as being accompanied by a videographer, several pictures as captured by Page Six appear to show Harry wearing a mic on some of their appearances.
Harry and Meghan had several public stops on their New York trip, including a visit to a school where Meghan read her children’s book, The Bench to a class, an appearance at the Global Citizen Festival, and a visit to the 9/11 Memorial.
There has been no announcement of a documentary about the couple’s life yet, with the only projects announced as part of their Netflix deal so far being a documentary about the Invictus Games, which Harry is very involved in, and an animated series about a 12 year old girl, entitled Pearl.
Sources close to the couple say that they’ve been filming archival footage for their Archewell Foundation, which could also explain the presence of video equipment and microphones, but it does seem a documentary about their lives would be a major coup for Netflix, and would almost certainly be watched by millions.
It would also give the couple a chance to tell their side of a story where they have often been criticised for stepping back from the royal family.
