John Travolta pays tribute to Olivia Newton John
John Travolta has led tributes to his Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John following news of her death. The British-born singer died peacefully at her ranch in Southern California on Monday morning at the age of 73, with her husband confirming her death on social media. Dame Olivia is best known for her starring role as Sandy in the 1978 film Grease, in which she appeared opposite Travolta, who played Danny Zuko. Writing on Instagram, Travolta said that her “impact was incredible” and signed off his tribute to the actress as “your Danny”.

Man in critical condition following Dublin assault
A man in his 20s is in a critical condition following an assault in Dublin on Sunday evening. Gardaí say that the attack happened at a Luas stop in George’s Dock before 9pm. It is understood a group of people were involved in the incident. The man received serious head injuries and was taken to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. An appeal for information has been issued and gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in George’s Dock and the surrounding areas between 7pm and 9.30pm on Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Store Street Garda Station on 016668000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Almost 50 firefighters attend scene at former entertainment centre in Antrim
Almost 50 firefighters are responding to reports of a fire at the Dunluce Centre in Portrush, Co Antrim. The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at the former family entertainment centre at 8.26pm on Monday evening. Videos and photos on social media show smoke billowing from the centre. A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said that there are six fire appliances at the scene: Two from Portrush, two from Coleraine, one from Portstewart, and one from Ballymoney. “There is also an aerial appliance from Derry and a support vehicle from Kilrea in attendance,” the spokesperson said. In total, there are 46 firefighters at the scene. Members of the public have been asked to stay away from the area as firefighting operations are ongoing.

Trump’s Florida home ‘raided’ by the FBI
Former US President Donald Trump has said that his Mar-A-Lago residence in Florida was being “raided” by FBI agents in what he called an act of “prosecutorial misconduct.” The FBI declined to comment on whether the search was happening or what it might be for, nor did Trump give any indication of why federal agents were at his home – a situation that adds to the legal pressure on the ex-president.
