Homeless charity, the Simon Community, is encouraging people to take a ‘dip’ to raise funds for much-needed homelessness services.

On June 21st during the summer solstice and the longest day of the year, Dublin Simon Community has partnered with Irish printmakers JANDO for their new Longest Day campaign, ‘Dip from Dawn to Dusk’ to raise awareness and essential funds for Dublin Simon’s services.

The Dip from Dawn to Dusk aims to raise awareness and essential funds for Dublin Simon’s services by doing a sponsored swim, donating directly, or purchasing a JANDO  dawn to dusk print where 25% of every sale goes directly to Dublin Simon.

Speaking at the launch of the Longest Day 2021 campaign, Head of Fundraising & Communications at Dublin Simon Community, Emma Kilkenny said, “While many of us look forward to the stretch in the evenings each year, for people experiencing homelessness, these extra hours of daylight can make the hardest days of their lives seem endless.”

People who wish to support and get involved can set up their own ‘Dip’ challenge by picking a time of day, location, and swim length that suits them to raise vital funds for Dublin Simon Community through sponsorship from family and friends.

Registration is free and now open via the Dublin Simon website http://www.dubsimon.ie/longestday2021
