This afternoon, climate strikes will be taking place in cities throughout Ireland, inviting people to come along and stand up for the future of our planet. Organised by an Irish grassroots youth movement, Fridays for Future encourage school-striking for climate justice — because what use are English, Irish and Maths on a dying planet? Galway’s demonstration takes place at 2pm in Eyre Square.

The Equinox is a time when the Earth is in perfect harmony, evenly split between night and day, north and south, warm and cold. The show’s first weekend on the stage of the Bord Gáis, Sister Act The Musical is bringing disco diva Deloris’ story to life as she becomes a nun on the run. Placed under protective custody, our lead is hidden in the one place she shouldn’t be found — a convent! Encouraged to lend her expertise to the struggling choir, she helps her fellow sisters find their true voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
