In protest of the rape of Ukrainian civilians at the hands of Russian forces, a protester stripped on the red carpet, bearing the words ‘Stop Raping Us’ on her chest and stomach in the Ukrainian colours of blue and yellow. She had ‘SCUM’ written on her back, identifying her as an activist from the 1967 radical feminist group, SCUM Manifesto.

Tributes pour in for the victims of the Manchester Arena attacks
Sunday 22 May marked the fifth anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack. An atrocity that saw innocent people go to a pop concert and never return, tributes poured in for the 22 victims of this senseless act of terror. A memorial was erected in Victoria Station and a moment of silence was held at 10.31am.

Sunday marked seven years since the people of Ireland voted to legalise gay marriage, enshrining the equal right in our Constitution. Though it was a very proud day for the country, it highlights just how much work is still needed to dismantle homophobic and transphobic attitudes. The anniversary coincides with the release of ILGA’s ‘Rainbow Europe’ ranking, which placed Ireland in 16th place for LGBTQ+ rights in Europe largely due to lack of hate crime legislation and rates of conversion therapy.
