Plan your post-Halloween pick-me-up now and join us for an exciting POUND session, followed by a relaxing yoga flow on Sunday, November 10.

Join us on Sunday, November 10, at The Mayson Dublin for a morning that will leave you feeling strong, capable, and connected — ready for whatever life throws at you.

Carla Roberts, POUND fitness instructor and master trainer, will get us moving with a drumming-inspired full-body workout, followed by a relaxing Yoga Flow led by Emma Dowling, expert in women’s fitness and founder of Empowered Movement. After the workout, refuel with light bites and treats from Optimum Nutrition and Vita Coco.

We know fitness can feel intimidating. That’s why at IMAGE Active, we’re really passionate about creating spaces where women, no matter the ability level, can come together and rediscover the joy of movement. We’ve created a community where all women feel encouraged, empowered, and inspired to embrace movement (and to have a bit of fun while doing it!).

  • You will need to bring your own yoga mat, as mats will not be provided. 
  • These are ticketless events. Upon arrival, all you need to register is the name you booked your ticket with.

Suitability 

All levels are welcome and no experience is necessary. We kindly advise if you have a specific condition, injury or are currently pregnant to please make your instructor aware at the beginning of the event and they can tailor the movements specifically for you.

Instructors 

Carla Roberts, POUND Fitness Instructor & Master Trainer

As a longtime volunteer in Africa, Carla Roberts found her passion for fitness and community while living and working with volunteer organisations there. When she returned home to Dublin, she was eager to find a way to continue giving back – that’s when she discovered the joy of POUND.

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this fun, full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energised, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeal to rockstars of all ages and abilities.

As a POUND fitness instructor and master trainer, Carla teaches this fun fitness class to all ages and stages, from children and seniors to those with disabilities, hoping to empower and inspire her community to stay active and have a great time in the process.

Emma Dowling, Founder of Empowered Movement

Coming from a competitive Olympic Weightlifting background, Emma was used to a group training environment that was fun and sociable as well as challenging, and she found her own return to exercise with her baby a lonely and isolating experience.

Emma’s original background was beauty therapy. She spent 12 years catering to people and their “me” time. She owned her own successful, small business for six of these years. Caring for people and helping them feel like their best selves is what Emma loves to do. As well as running her business she qualified as a personal trainer in 2014. She has been a personal trainer on the gym floor since then working with one-to-one clients, coaching CrossFit classes and also coaching youths weightlifting in her former club Prodigy Barbell. Since her original PT qualifications, she has continued her studies and she places a huge emphasis on self-learning by connecting with relevant industry leaders.

Emma is passionate about bringing the most up-to-date, research-backed information to her pre and postnatal clients. She is one of a few fully qualified Pre and Post Natal Exercise Specialists in Ireland. Her qualifications include Pre and Post Natal Exercise through NTC Ireland and Pre and Post Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist from Dr Sarah Duvall. She aims to continue her education, bringing the latest techniques from the USA and Australia to Irish mamas.

Above all else, Emma is a mother herself. She understands what it takes for a mama to chisel 15 minutes or one hour out of their day to exercise. So if you are attending one of her classes with baby in tow or doing one of her 20-minute home workouts, Emma aims for it to be enjoyable and stress-free as well as being a highly effective, safe workout that meets you and your body where it is at on your fitness journey.
