The IMAGE Business Club takes to Cork city Wednesday, May 22 for an evening that digs deep into all things finance, health and career to find solutions for energy, security, progression and reward in our lives – both personal and professional.

Join IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris as she chats with a panel of professionals as we hear from consultant endocrinologist and bestselling author Dr Mary Ryan on optimising our mental and physical health; Financial advisor Carol Brick, MD of Contracting PLUS Financial and HerMoney on smart ways with money for right now and the future; and businesswoman Lisa Jordan on how she has evolved her career from style influencer to successful beauty entrepreneur in line with her own personal growth and aspirations.

The evening is one to power attendees to become their most productive, fulfilling selves as we take things, step-by-step, towards that wonderful feeling of empowerment and optimism for all that’s ahead.

Meet the speakers

Dr Mary Ryan

Consultant physician and endocrinologist

Dr Mary Ryan trained in Trinity College Dublin and obtained her MB BCH BAO in 1992, before specialising in endocrinology and general medicine. She is also on the Specialist Registrar, has obtained the MRCP (UK), and completed her MD in the Royal College of Surgery in Ireland and Trinity College, Dublin on diabetes and obesity. Mary lectures to GPs nationwide and also to the public on the prevention of heart disease and type-2 diabetes and its complications. She was on the Women’s Heart Advisory Group for the Irish Heart Foundation and lectured to the public in the Royal College of Physicians Dublin on the prevention of type-2 diabetes.

Dr Mary Ryan has also participated in a very popular public health education programme called How Long Will You Live for four years on RTÉ and has made regular contributions to radio and television shows over the course of her career. She has lectured and tutored over the last five years in the post-graduate medical degree programme in the University of Limerick.

Carol Brick

Founder and MD of Contracting PLUS Financial and HerMoney

For 18 years Carol, a Qualified Financial Advisor, has specialised in the provision of advanced financial planning advice and solutions to clients. The founder and MD of Contracting PLUS Financial and HerMoney has a passion for enabling women to make better financial decisions and feel more engaged with their money.

A Kerry native and working mother, she creates a space free of judgement where she brings her expertise, passion and straight-talking to an area of women’s lives often cloaked in silence. Lisa Jordan

Founder of LUNA by Lisa Jordan, LUNA Professional Haircare and Edit Row

Lisa Jordan is a Cork businesswoman. She started her career as a beauty therapist and make-up artist which led to her starting an online blog. After years of working with top brands such as MAC, Lisa has a wealth of knowledge about all things make-up which led to the creation of LUNA by Lisa in 2017.

Since then, the busy mum of three has gone on to achieve more business success with the launch of her fashion label Edit Row, which has made a significant mark on the industry in just one year of business.
